Review of Next To Me by Serotonin Duo [play] Genre: Pop 5.0 Super Vocals and Harmonies The vocals and harmonies are fantastic. The male and female vocals blend very well. Her sweet flowing tone and his light mid-tones leave me mezmorized throughout the entire track, awaiting the next beautifully sung harmony. The bass player is extremely stylish and tight with the drums. I can't say enough about the vocals - I love 'em! I hear this on broadway on in a hit movie. Next To Me [play] Band: Serotonin Duo Genre: Pop (Pop) 'A' class track Straight off the mark... these vocals sound great. Production, pitch, harmonies, intonation. Very very slick! The rhythm section sounds great. The bass and drums working together side by side nicely. I love how the Bass sound has a real tight round feel, really compliments the song. Drumming is nice... playing nicely in the pocket. Great snare sound fat and pushy). I must say this music is not really normally my cup of tea... but I just can't deny the great musicianship and production. It has been great to hear this group over the past year at different venues and throughout Sydney. I feel absolutely compelled to say that "Next to Me" is one of the best albums I have had the pleasure of listening to. In this day and age, when the vast majority of popular music is an annoying cacophony of synthesised, unimaginative noise, it's refreshing to know that there are truly talented artists like Pete and Meg, producing beautiful music that sells itself - without need of today's giant marketing machines. The flawless acoustics and voices, along with the brilliant originality and passionate singing make me ask "Who wouldn't listen to this?"! I have an enormously stressful job. I can come home in the worst of states, but when I close my eyes and listen to these beautiful songs, the world transforms into a peaceful place with vibrant imagery that leaves no option, but to shed the stress. It's a lucky find for me - it's been years since I've thought so highly of a new album. Keep doing what you're doing, Pete and Meg - there are a lot of people out there who NEED to hear this! During the latter part of 2007 I needed so much more inner strength than I’d be granted…that’s when I heard this most haunting voice one morning whilst walking to work through St James Station. How could this person bring me to tears, so much so that I couldn’t even glance at him and for those who know me, know I am not a shy woman…his words, his passion, his strength, his determination – his harmonious voice helped me in more ways than he will ever know. Beautiful things need to be passed on and Pete is one of those beautiful things – his voice is soup for my soul…he doesn’t know it – but he is my friend and now he has become a friend to my husband-to-be. He is our “Chosen One” for 12 April 2008. I’m here to say – for gods sake buy his CD – you will be enchanted by the lyrics and the love he has put into it, but don’t just buy the CD, listen to his cover songs…follow him, find out where he is playing, support him, isn’t this what we Australians do best… I’m speechless… Vikki

Pete and Meg are the most talented duo I have listened to in the last decade, their music is wonderful, inspiring and I really think someone with half a brain should sign them up for a record deal. I was the "mad" lady from Macquarie Street last Friday who had to run back with money to pay you (I asked if you did weddings)...your voice in that tunnel is awesome...makes my day, as I'm sure it does to many others, my partner plays guitar so I'm hooked... Hopefully we will be getting married in the earlier part of this year...just finding the time is the painful bit...and I'd love to have you there with that haunting voice of yours...
